Toutes les photos suivantes ont été prises par Jean Besancenot entre 1934 et 1939. J’ai choisi celles que je préférais et ai décidé de les partager ici, avec leurs légendes.

Anti-Atlas/ Le travail sur une aire de battage. Chaque famille importante possède sa propre aire de battage. Elle peut être si vaste que dix animaux en ligne peuvent y travailler autour. — Work on a threshing floor. Every important family has its own. It can be so vast that ten lined up animals can work around it.
Zagora/ Homme des Aït Isfoul de la vallée du Draa vêtu du khaïdous foncé et du turban blanc, rezza. — Man from the Draa Valley’s Aït Isfoul tribe wearing a dark khaïdous and a white rezza (turban).
Tiznit/ Femme en drapé traditionnel des jours chauds, l’addal de Khount bleu brodé sur le bord. — Woman wearing traditional drape of hot days, embroidered on the edges.
Tiznit/ Danseuse chleuh, chtakhat, vêtue d’un drapé de cotonnade noire, tamelhaft, tombant jusqu’au sol fixé devant par deux énormes fibules, tizerzaï. — Shilha/Chleuh dancer wearing tamelhaft, fixed by two big tizerzai (fibulas).

Agdz/ Guerrier en tenue traditionnelle de la haute vallée avec son fusil, moukala, ses sacs à poudre, son poignard, sa choukara, sa ceinture à balles passée en bandoulière. — Warrior wearing traditional attire with his weapon, powder bags, dagger, and bullet belt.Rif-Chefchaouen/ Dans le monde rural, la djellaba est également portée avec quelques variantes dans la coupe. Ici il s’ agit de la djellaba telle qu’ elle est taillée dans le Rif et le sud du Rif. — In the rural areas, the djellaba is also worn with some variations. Goulimine/ Homme des Reguibat portant le chèche enroulé autour du cou. — Man of the Reguibat wearing his scarf around his neck.
Haut Atlas/ Jeunes Berbères de la région au sud de Marrakech, portant la djellaba.
